The challenge

The Chamber of Labor of Upper Austria (AK OÖ) represents the interests of more than 650,000 employees in Upper Austria. The 550 employees of the AK OÖ therefore need efficient digital workstations and reliably available IT applications in order to be able to process all concerns quickly.  

However, a rigid helpdesk system and cumbersome deployment processes repeatedly slowed down the organization. The software previously used in the service desk was difficult to adapt to new workflows. Every change had to be laboriously programmed by the manufacturer. In addition, the helpdesk system did not interact properly with the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM). As a result, it often took far too long to set up new end devices and deploy software.  

The IT managers at AK OÖ were therefore looking for an easy-to-use platform for IT service management and unified endpoint management and finally opted for Matrix42. 

 

The result

With Matrix42, AK OÖ can handle all tasks related to IT service management and the administration of clients and applications via a centralized system - transparently, automatically and therefore highly efficiently. 

The new solution simplifies software deployment and reduces the costs for the hardware required in the branch offices by 70,000 euros. The effort required for workflow adjustments has been reduced by around 80 percent. The standardized processes and end-to-end transparency of the Matrix42 platform facilitate the joint processing of service requests. 

Users can call up the status of their open tickets at any time.  

 

Last but not least, the time required to set up end devices has been significantly reduced. It used to take around two hours before a new computer was ready for use. Today, the installation is often completed after just 45 minutes
